Still Wasteful? Here are 7 ways to get rid of wasteful nature

Indonesia is one of the countries with a high level of consumption. No wonder the people are extravagant. Wasteful living habits can be overcome by implementing a good financial management system. The goal is that the expenditure does not exceed capacity.

To combat this trait, you can start by taking the following simple steps:

1. Prepare a Budget on a Routine basis

Developing a budget is the first step to overcome consumptive attitudes. If previously the financial budget was not planned, start to prepare a new budget. Arrange the list carefully. Make sure yourself know your needs for a month. Developing a budget does not mean cutting all expenses to be more economical. Cut off excessive amounts of budget.

2. Making Priority Scale

Everyone has priority in his life. These priorities also have different types, both food, clothing, shoes, and having gadgets. Making a priority scale means compiling a budget based on the most important needs first.

3. Don't be easily attracted by the discount

Taking advantage of discounts is great for reducing expenses. However, not all discount items have to be purchased. If there is an item that you wanted for a long time and you happen to be on a discount, this is the time to buy that item. One thing to remember, not all discount items are cheap. There are times when the price of the item is increased first and then discounted. So, don't be easily tempted by massive discounts.

4. Buy Goods Because You Need, Not Want

Another extravagant attitude is buying based on wants not needs. Many people find it difficult to tell the difference between the two and end up buying things they don't really need. Needs are basic items that are really needed for everyday life. Meanwhile, desire is only a satisfying item of desire. From now on, avoid buying things because you yourself like or are interested in these items. Prioritize your needs in order to avoid wastefulness

5. Change Expensive Habits Into Cheap Habits

One of the expensive habits is hanging out at the cafe. This habit makes spending out of control. To be more economical, start spending time hanging out at home. You yourself can serve food and drink menus in the cafe at home. The method is quite easy, buy a food recipe book and start cooking.

Foods that are made are also much healthier. You can also adjust the portion of the food according to your needs.

6. Create a Reminder Calendar

This point will really help yourself to control expenses. Make a calendar at home as a reminder of every expense that occurs. Mark the date after shopping and include the amount. When the urge to shop arises, the calendar can serve as an alarm or reminder to stop the need for extravagance.

7. Bring Sufficient Money

When shopping, a mistake that is often made is carrying too much cash. Whether you realize it or not, this action will make you more wasteful. If wastefulness cannot be overcome immediately, only carry enough money when shopping. Don't be easily tempted to buy things you don't need.
